I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
